The Primary PE and Sport Premium Funding for Thermoplastic Playground Markings

The Primary PE and Sport Premium Funding

The Government in England has provided additional premium funding of over £150 million per annum since 2013/14 to improve PE and school sport in primary schools. From September 2017, the funding will be doubled to enable primary schools to make further improvements to the quality and breadth of the PE and sport they offer.

The premium funding is ring-fenced and can only be spent on PE and school sport provision in schools. Ofsted will assess how primary schools spend their PE and sport premium; schools are required to publish information about their use of the premium on their website.

Thermoplastic Playground Markings are a great way to use this funding wisely, and with a range of Thermoplastic Playground Markings for all types of exercise first4playgrounds will definitely have something you’re looking for.

The Schools must spend the funding on PE and Sports provisions. A Definition of the criteria that each school must meet when spending the funding can be found at this link.

Physical Activity

Physical Activity is classed as Education, Sports and Dance activities. There are a range of markings www.first4playgrounds.co.uk provide which are a suitable choice. An example I personally have chosen for you is the Dance Class.

Dance Class

Dance class moves has five learning positions and one instructor circle.  The game teaches children left and right co-ordination with this fun playground marking. The children can dance together to music or let the children use as a playtime activity.  This playground marking uses a variety of coloured thermoplastic shapes and will add fun and to any school playground.

As Cycling is one of the aspects classed as Physical Activity by Ofsted another great example of a Physical Activity Playground Markings is a Cycle Track.

Cycle Track

Our Cycle Tracks are designed to be used by bikes and scooters. They can include Roundabouts, Zebra Crossings, Parkings Bays, Stop Signs and Traffic lights. As well as a range of other graphics e.g. Schools, Houses, Petrol Garages etc.

Physical Education

Physical Education is the planned, progressive learning that takes place in school curriculum timetabled time and which is delivered to all pupils. A Great example for an addition to P.E is the Rounders Pitch.

Rounders Pitch

The rounders pitch allows for ordered playing of rounders on the yard,  it is around 20m x 15m in diameter.

School Sport

School Sport is the structured learning that takes place beyond the curriculum (i.e. in the extended curriculum) within school settings. A great example of a school sport playground marking would a the Activity Trail, coming in two difficulty levels for different aged children (Activity Trail and Adventure Trail).

Activity Trail

Adventure Trail

The activity trail is a colourful and exciting playground game for children to use for all ages. The activity trail can designed to fit any play area to suit individual schools. The total length of the activity trail is 30m, this can be altered to fit any school playground area.
